“Should Halloween costumes be allowed at school?” it’s a question that seems to come up every Halloween. Costumes can be harmless, but do we want eleven year olds dressing up in reveling costumes? Recently students at Ohio University started a campaign called “we’re a culture not a costume”. They call themselves S.T.A.R.S. or Students teaching about Racism in Socity . Their main objective is to stop people from wearing offensive costumes like a geisha or other costumes like a Mexican riding on a donkey, their saying that dressing up is ok but you need to think if your costumes could hurt someone. Dressing up can be good too. Halloween Costumes can help express individuality and boost self confidence. It’s the one day a year that little girls can be a princess or little boys a hero. In the end it’s your decision, but costume or not Halloween is a fun holiday for all.
